Guest scores and detailed hotel feedback
I had a delightful stay at this hotel located on 5th Avenue, right in the heart of the Gas Lamp district in San Diego. The convenient location near trams and bus stops made it easy to explore the area, but being above a lively restaurant/bar might not suit those seeking a quiet retreat.
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. It's situated right on 5th avenue, which is central and near the trams and bus stops that can take you anywhere in San Diego. The location in the heart of the Gaslamp District was really convenient, and the room I stayed in was really cute and comfortable.
My stay was a real mixed bag - the location was superb, right in the heart of the Gas Lamp district, perfect for exploring the city, dining out, and getting around easily. Unfortunately, the room I got was tiny and right under a noisy ventilator, making it a bit challenging to relax. However, the responsive service and efforts by the hosts to address the noise issues really saved the day.
This hotel is smack dab in the downtown center, making it super convenient for those who want to be in the heart of the action. The rooms, unfortunately, were pretty dirty, possibly due to the busy street location above two noisy bars and the loud ventilator from the downstairs restaurants. The service, though a bit noisy during cleaning, was exceptional with incredibly nice and helpful staff who go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The location is ideal for those seeking a lively and vibrant downtown atmosphere, although be ready for some noise from nearby bars. Overall, a somewhat mixed experience with great service but cleanliness issues in the rooms.
Although the hotel is conveniently located in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, the rooms face a busy street with noisy bars, making it challenging to get a good night's sleep. The staff made efforts to address the noise issue but could have been more helpful overall. The central location is ideal for accessing the conference center and restaurants, but the proximity to lively nightlife venues may not suit everyone.
During my 8-day stay, the hotel's location on a busy street above two bars made it extremely loud at night, but the staff were responsive to the noise issues and even provided compensation. The proximity to downtown was convenient, but the continuous noise from surrounding clubs could be a potential drawback.
